Description
A set-it-and-forget-it slow cooker recipe featuring juicy pork tenderloin coated in a sticky, sweet-savory apple cider glaze. Perfect for busy weeknights with minimal effort and maximum flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork tenderloins
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup apple cider glaze (such as French’s or Stubb’s)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Pat pork tenderloins dry with paper towels and trim off any silver skin.
- Season the pork generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- In a small bowl, mix apple cider and apple cider glaze. Add fresh thyme sprigs if using.
- Place seasoned pork in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Pour the glaze mixture over the pork, ensuring meat is mostly submerged.
- Dot the top of the pork with butter pieces.
- Cover and cook on High for 4-5 hours or on Low for 6-7 hours, until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Remove pork from slow cooker and let rest on a carving board for 5 minutes.
- Slice pork into 1/2-inch medallions.
- Spoon warm glaze over the sliced pork and serve immediately.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the slow cooker; ensure space for glaze circulation. Pork is safe at 145°F but will be juiciest at this temperature. Resting the meat is crucial to retain juices. To thicken the sauce, simmer the liquid in a saucepan for 5-10 minutes or use a cornstarch slurry. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen separately.
